Sally Ward Obituary

Sally Leora Anderson Ward, 80, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024. Sally was born May 3, 1943, the oldest child of Wayne and Juanita Sammons Anderson. She graduated from Bear River High and attended BYU for a time. Sally married Jerrold Ward on June 14, 1966 in the Logan Temple.

Sally’s first priority was Jerrold and her family. She excelled at providing opportunities to gather everyone together, from holidays and birthdays to various trips. A lifelong friend to many, Sally thoughtfully served them through cards, meals, and cheerful visits. She loved gardening, candy- making, and handicrafts. Sally was actively involved in many aspects of community service; from 4-H and Women’s Civic League to the local museum. She served in different capacities with the Utah Farm Bureau. Loyal to Bear River High’s class of ‘61, Sally stayed connected to her classmates throughout her life.

Sally was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life where she served in a variety of callings. She and Jerrold especially enjoyed their time as service missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where they met people from all over the world.

Sally is survived by her husband, Jerrold, and her four children: Bryan (Heather), Jeff (Amy), Larisa (Brett) Rawlings, and Dan (Ann); 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Betty (Joe) Maestas, and brothers Don, Larry (Becky), and Randy (Kathy).

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John, and sister-in-law DeAnn Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 3rd Ward, 9590 North 6800 West, Tremonton, Utah. Viewings will be held the night before on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church and prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be at the Bear River City Cemetery.
