Susan Johnson

Susan Johnson Worley, 70, passed away at her home, Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013. She was born Aug. 9, 1943, in Logan, Utah, to Benjamin Francis Johnson and Marie Daines Johnson. Susan lived most of her years in Cache Valley and loved the beautiful Mendon Mountains.

Susan has blessed the lives of many individuals by her genuine interest in others. She could always be found offering words of encouragement, particularly to young people. Susan loved to read and had acquired a large collection of books. She was always encouraging her 16 grandchildren to read. She has left a legacy of books and treasures for her grandchildren to enjoy.

Susan graduated from Utah State University in Elementary Education. She taught Kindergarten in Fielding, Utah, for one year and shortly after retired to devote her time to her highest calling as mother. Susan married William Worley in the Logan Temple in 1964. Together they raised five children: Michelle (Scott) Murdoch of Springville, Utah; Richard (Lisa) Worley of Petersboro, Utah; Lee Worley of Petersboro; Jennifer (Rick) Freeman of South Jordan, Utah; Steve (Mindy) Worley of Smithfield, Utah.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Susan served as a Young Women's President, Primary President, Temple Officiator and many other teaching and leadership positions. She was a great support to her husband in his church responsibilities.

Susan loved God's creations. She was always planting varieties of trees and flowers, even after she knew her time was short. She relished the beautiful colors that would occur each fall in the mountains surrounding Cache Valley. She had many dogs through the years and leaves behind her beloved black lab, Jade. She loved horses and spent many times on horseback trips with her husband in the High Uintas and Logan Canyon. She cherished her time with her family on campouts and visiting Bear Lake. She truly felt that Cache Valley is the most beautiful place on earth.

Susan is survived by her husband William, five children, 16 grandchildren, two sisters and one brother; Annabelle Neuberger (Brian, deceased) of Salt Lake City; Marijane Lambert (Glen) of Holiday, Utah; Ben Johnson of Beaver Dam, Utah.
